Three accused of 'significant' baby formula thefts

Baby formula thefts – arrests made

On October 5, 2016 in the early morning hours, two females attended to Walmart on Stone Road in Guelph and stole approximately $4,000 worth of baby formula. 

On October 14, 2016, the same two females attended to Walmart and again stole a significant amount of baby formula. 

This time, police were able to arrest both females as well as a male that was identified as being involved in the theft.  Approximate total value of both thefts is $5,300.

One female was later discovered to have a small quantity of crack cocaine in her possession.

Candis Beckford, 34 years of Toronto, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, four counts of breach of undertaking, breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and obstruct police. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 17, 2016.

Gwen Simoneau, 47 years of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breach undertaking. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 17, 2016.

Runsheng Lin, 21 years of London, has been charged with theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on November 8, 2016.
