In response to ongoing suspicious activity in the Waterloo Avenue area, the community has been very helpful in providing information to assist police in addressing the problem.
Using this information provided by the public and information learned through other investigations, members of the High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) initiated a project to target this suspicious activity. As a result, a residence on Waterloo Avenue was identified as being the focal point of this activity.
On Nov. 29, 2017, HEAT officers and the Tactics and Rescue Unit conducted a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at this residence in the early evening hours.
Three persons were arrested and a total of 11 CDSA and HTA charges were laid that include possession for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana), breach of probation and driving while suspended.
A 29-year-old male was held to appear in bail court on Nov. 30, 2017. A 29-year-old female and 44-year-old male were released on a PTA/OIC with a future court date. All three are Guelph residents.
The Guelph Police Service would like to thank those community members that provided information and supported community safety in regards to this investigation.
