TOWN OF MINTO - On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a three-vehicle collision on Highway 9, north of Harriston with one person suffering from minor injuries.

It was reported that two northbound vehicles where stopped and waiting at a red light when a third northbound vehicle came up behind them striking the second car and sending into the first.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jason David Guse of Carleton Place, Ont. has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. He was also charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Nov. 7, 2017.
