Guelph Police Service dealt with 225 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Break and enter
On April 10, 2019, the Guelph Police went an Exhibition Street school for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry to two portables, breaking a window in one. A theft is reported.

Break and enter
On April 10, 2019, Guelph Police went a construction area on Kingsbury Square for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry through the fence sometime on Monday night. A theft of tools and electrical wire are reported.

Four arrested on warrants
A 36-year-old Guelph man arrested on warrant for breach recognizance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 40-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for fail to attend court. He will appear in court in May of 2019.

A 50-year-old Guelph female arrested on a warrant for fail to attend court. She will appear in court on May 21, 2019.

A 24-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant of committal and grounds for breach recognizance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft from cars
On April 10, 2019, the Guelph Police received five reports of theft from cars. The locations were Metcalfe Street, Marlborough Road, Law Drive, Suburban Avenue and Stuart Street.

This crime is easily avoidable. Please lock your cars and do not leave and belongings visible. If you do become a victim of this crime you can report it through the Guelph Police online reporting portal.

Road safety enforcement on April 10
In the area of Paisley Road and Stephanie Drive from 12 - 1:25 p.m.  Six tickets issued.

In the area of Michener Road and Woodlawn Road West from 8 - 11 p.m.  Eight tickets issued.

Speed limits are set to reduce the risk of collision and injury and we are seeing far too many people ignoring these limits. Speed can make the difference between life and death crashes. Please slow down.
