Guelph Police responded to 200 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Female arrested for numerous charges
On Dec. 11, 2019 at 3:48 p.m., a member of the Guelph Police Service observed an adult female at a business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph who was wanted on a Bench Warrant in relation to the following offences:
    •    Possess stolen property under $5,000 x2
    •    Possess break and enter instruments x2
    •    Fail to re-attend court

She was then arrested. A search subsequent to arrest revealed that she was in possession of an Ontario Health Card not in her name and a signed cheque not in her name. Furthermore, it was discovered that she also unlawfully failed to attend court on Aug. 20, 2019.

The 36-year-old Guelph female has been additionally charged with:
    •    Fail to appear
    •    Possess government issued identification
    •    Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Dec. 12, 2019.  

Break in to construction site
Sometime over the past few nights, a building under construction located near the intersection of Waterloo Avenue and Edinburgh Road South in the City of Guelph was entered. Numerous items including copper, wire and power tools were taken.
