On December 7, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a grocery store on Eramosa Road for the report of a stolen purse.

Purse stolen from shopping cart

On Dec. 7, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a grocery store on Eramosa Road for the report of a stolen purse. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the female victim had left her purse on her shopping cart while looking at merchandise on shelves. When she looked back to the cart the purse was gone. Police investigation later located the purse but the cash inside was missing. A man that had been in the area during the theft is suspected. He is described as an adult white man, 5’ and thin.

Guelph Police remind shoppers with purses - do not put them in shopping carts while you are in stores, keep them on your shoulder.

Vehicle strikes building

On Dec. 7, 2016 at 4:06 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Janefield Avenue for the report that a vehicle struck a building. Investigation alleges that the older female driver left the roadway and struck the building. The female driver had minor injuries. She was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.
