In response to concerns about speed in the areas of Watson Parkway and Shackleton Drive, police performed direct traffic enforcement at approximately 9 a.m.

In response to concerns about speed in the areas of Watson Parkway and Shackleton Drive, police performed direct traffic enforcement at approximately 9 a.m. and issued 11 Highway Traffic Act Offence Notices, primarily for speeding, in just over an hour.

That directed enforcement then moved over to the area of College Avenue and Rodney Boulevard for the same length of time and another 10 Highway Traffic Act Offence Notices were issued.

The totals for the day on Feb. 2 include a total of 51 vehicle stops to enforce the rules of the road on Guelph roadways and 39 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid.

Calls for service

On Feb. 1, 2017 the Guelph Police Service was involved in 208 calls of all descriptions.
