Guelph Police responded to 184 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Theft of motor vehicle
Sometime during the night of July 17, 2019, a red Dodge pickup truck was stolen from out front of a residence in the west end of the city. The vehicle has not been recovered.

The Guelph Police Service reminds the community to be vigilant in both locking and monitoring their vehicles.

White fentanyl overdoses in Guelph
On July 17, 2019, there were three overdoses caused by white fentanyl in Guelph.

The Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy (WGDS) describes White Fentanyl as having icing sugar consistency and seems to be extremely potent. The WGDS also states that atypical overdose symptoms includes arms/legs/hands with muscle rigidity and clenching.

The WGDS warns the public to reduce your risk of overdose by:
    •    Carrying naloxone
    •    Never using alone
    •    Starting low and go slow
