On June 22, 2016 at 9:45 a.m., the Guelph Police stopped a Yamaha VF1 E-bike riding on Edinburgh Road South. The driver was not wearing a helmet and was also carrying a passenger.

Traffic stop with E-bike leads to charges

On June 22, 2016 at 9:45 a.m., the Guelph Police stopped a Yamaha VF1 E-bike riding on Edinburgh Road South. The driver was not wearing a helmet and was also carrying a passenger. The 53-year-old male driver has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with class M1 licence holder – carry passenger and driver – no helmet.

Drive over 80 mg

On June 23, 2016 at 2:26 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on West Acres Drive. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Thomas Rajch, 35 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on July 8, 2016.

Bicycle/car collision

On June 22, 2016 at 5:28 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a bicycle/car collision Gordon Street near Dormie Lane. The collision caused traffic issues for approximately 30 minutes. The cyclist received minor injuries and the driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with turn not in safety.
