Just after 7 p.m. on March 15, police were called by staff at an Edinburgh Road restaurant after a customer came into the restaurant, ordered some food and beer and then attempted to leave the restaurant without paying.

Charged laid after patron refused to pay

Just after 7 p.m. on Mar. 15, police were called by staff at an Edinburgh Road restaurant after a customer came into the restaurant, ordered some food and beer and then attempted to leave the restaurant without paying. He was confronted by staff and still refused to pay. Police arrived and spoke with the male who ended up being arrested and charged with fraudulently obtaining food.

Grant Stanborough of Guelph was released to appear in court on Apr. 29, 2017.

Traffic Enforcement

On Mar. 15, directed traffic enforcement was performed throughout the day on Kortright Road, York Road and Eramosa Road that resulted in 40 traffic offence notices being issued for a variety of driving offences.
