On October 6, 2016 at 1:38 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a York Road residence for the report of a male banging on the door and trying to get in. When the motion light turned on the person fled on foot.

On Oct. 6, 2016 at 1:38 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a York Road residence for the report of a male banging on the door and trying to get in. When the motion light turned on the person fled on foot. The individual is described as wearing a dark hoody with dark pants and white running shoes. They were last seen running south on Hayes Avenue. No damage is reported.

Theft from cars

On Oct. 5, 2016 the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Thornhill Drive, Tiffany Street, Vancouver Drive, Exhibition Street and Cavell Avenue.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
