In the last 24 hours, Guelph Police dealt with 216 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Scottsdale Drive incident
On September 12, 2018, at approximately 8:54 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a residence on Scottsdale Drive in regard to a male in distress.  Members of the Tactical and Response Unit, the K-9 Unit as well as Uniform Patrol attended to the residence and made contact with the male. 

After a short period of time, the situation came to a peaceful resolution.  The Guelph Police would like to thank the Guelph Wellington Paramedics as well as the Guelph Fire Department for their assistance in this matter. 

Break and Enter update 
On August 28, 2018 at 5:30 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a Bushmills Crescent home to investigate a break and enter. The residents were home sleeping and woke up to see their front door close. It was determined that the culprit(s) gained entry through an unlocked basement window. Two laptop computers, alcohol, and $1000 cash were reported stolen. 

UPDATE: 
On September 12, 2018, Guelph Police made an arrest in regard to this incident. Brandon NICHOLSON, a 22-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Break and Enter. NICHOLSON is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2018. The two computers were recovered by police.
