Tools worth thousands of dollars stolen from work site

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after approximately $7,000 worth of tools were stolen during a break-in at a local business.

Police were called Sunday morning to a business located near York Road and Stevenson Street South. The owner of the business advised he arrived to find a storage container had been broken into and a quantity of tools stolen. Video surveillance revealed two males on bicycles attended the business approximately 5 a.m. Sunday. One kept watch while the other managed to crawl under a chain-link fence to access the property.

The male checked a couple of vehicles on the property before breaking a padlock to access the storage container. Stolen tools included a laser level and a circular saw.
