CITY OF GUELPH - On Apr. 24, 2017 at approximately 11:50 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Wellington Road in the City of Guelph.
The officer observed a female driving a 2015 Toyota travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 147 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
30-year-old Van Thuy Nguyen of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on June 7, 2017. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
