Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A search found the occupants of a vehicle where in possession of a large amount of marijuana, drug trafficking equipment and a large amount of cash

WELLINGTON - On Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at approximately 11 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for having an obstructed window on Bridge Street, Fergus.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed grounds that the occupants were in possession of marijuana and were arrested. A subsequent search found the occupants where in possession of a large amount of marijuana, drug trafficking equipment and a large amount of cash.

Eighteen-year-old Tyler Dylan McNamara of North Bay has been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Nov. 10, 2017.

A young offender from North Bay and another from Centre Wellington were also charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and are scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on Nov. 8, 2017.
