A Kitchener couple faces criminal charges following a traffic stop in Guelph Saturday.

Approximately 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Guelph police were on patrol in the area of Edinburgh Road North and London Road West when they saw a vehicle driving without any headlights. The vehicle was stopped and the female passenger determined to be wanted by another police service.

The female was arrested on the warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed a baggie containing 12 grams of suspected fentanyl in a cup holder and a box of .22-calibre ammunition in the female’s purse. She was found to be bound by several court orders banning her from possessing firearms or ammunition.

A 46-year-old Kitchener male and 29-year-old Kitchener female are jointly charged with possessing a controlled substance. The female is further charged with breach of probation and possessing ammunition contrary to an order.

Both will appear in a Guelph court March 8.
