On Nov. 16, 2017 at approximately 12:25 a.m.,Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol on Sideroad 17, Township of Wellington North. The officer observed a 2006 Honda Ridgeline parked on side of road with its lights on and running. The officer stopped to speak with the driver.

While speaking with the driver, the officer believed him to be impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening device was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested for care and control and transported to a local OPP detachment for further testing.

51-year-old Terry Simpson of Arthur has been charged with care or control over 80 mgs.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on Dec. 15, 2017.
