Traffic stop results in multiple charges

On Feb. 21, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m., while on routine patrol, Guelph police officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Gordon Street and Stone Road. A traffic stop was conducted at Gordon Street and Wellington Street West and the driver spoken to. As a result of this investigation, the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were both arrested and charged.

The driver, a 22-year-old male, was charged with three counts of possession of stolen property, breaching his probation order, breaching his officer in charge undertaking and several Highway Traffic Act offences.

The passenger, a 23-year-old male, was charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of breaching his probation order.

Both males were held for a bail hearing.
