Traffic stop results in numerous charges for disqualified driver

On March 12, 2018, Guelph police officers observed a vehicle being driven by a male that is allegedly prohibited from doing so. Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of Cork Street West and Dublin Street North. The vehicle is alleged to have fled from police for a short distance and then came to a stop.

As a result of this incident, the driver, a 23-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with drive disqualified, flight from police, possession of a controlled substance, three counts of breaching his probation order and a relevant Highway Traffic Act charge.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old Guelph male, was arrested with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

There were no injuries or damage to vehicles in this incident.
