Travelling 'at a very slow rate of speed' results in drug charges for two

WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP - On Oct. 1, 2016 at approximately 1:25 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the occupants of a 2009 Dodge Journey that was travelling at a very slow rate of speed on Wells Street in Wellington North Township.

When the officer approached the vehicle, a grinder containing marijuana was observed sitting on the centre console. The two occupants were placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle revealed additional drug paraphernalia, cocaine and marijuana.

18-year-old Jager Stewart, of Wellington North Township, and 18-year-old Lexy Langdon, of Mapleton Township, are charged with possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

They are scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 18, 2016 to answer to their charges.
