Trouble at the train station ends in Guelph man's arrest

Bylaw officers spotted damage to private property on Monday

On Jan. 15, 2018, City of Guelph Bylaw Officers were conducting routine duties and noted damage to property at the VIA rail station. Police were called and initiated an investigation. A suspect was identified as a result.

On Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, while on routine patrol, Guelph police officers observed the person that is allegedly responsible for the damage to the VIA rail in the area of Huron Street. Christopher Will, a 27-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with one count of mischief under $5000 and two counts of breaching his probation order.

Christopher Will was then transported to the police station where property he had is alleged to have been stolen. He was further charged with one count of possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of probation. The property found with Christopher Will is not related to the VIA Rail incident.

He was given a Jan. 26, 2018 court date.
