Guelph Police Service dealt with 247 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Traffic stop leads to two arrests
On April 9, 2019 at approximately 12:19 a.m., Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Eastview Road. The car had plates attached to it that were supposed to be attached to another vehicle. Investigation resulted in both female occupants being arrested as they were breaching conditions.

A 21-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with breach undertaking and four counts of breach probation.

The driver, a 29-year-old Guelph woman, has been charged with breach undertaking and two counts of breach probation. She also received multiple charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

They were both held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Disturbance downtown - arrest
On April 8, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street business for the report of a disturbance. Investigation determined that a female had assaulted a man that was known to her. Police located the woman nearby and she was arrested.

The 26-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with assault and two counts of breach probation. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter
On April 8, 2019, the Guelph Police went a Nicklin Crescent residence for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry through an unlocked rear door sometime during the day. A theft of jewelry and a laptop is reported.
