Charges include assault police, breach of probation and more

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Disturbance arrest

At approximately 8 p.m. on Dec. 18, police were called to a disturbance at a Cole Road home and were advised by the homeowner that a male there was not welcome in the home. When the male was requested to leave, he grew combative with police and was arrested.

Troy Oppermann, a 32-year-old Guelph man was charged with assault police and later released to appear in court at a later date.

Vehicle stop arrest

Early this morning at approximately 1 a.m., police stopped a vehicle with male driver and female passenger on Woolwich Street. The female provided false identification and when she was properly identified, that information revealed that the two were in breach of previous court ordered conditions.

The 37-year-old male driver from Guelph was charged with breach of undertaking and breach of probation. The 27-year-old female from Guelph was charged with obstruct police and breach of undertaking. Both were held in custody to appear in bail court later today.

Over the course of the day on Dec. 18, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 186 calls for service.
