On December 19, 2016 at 9:32 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Kortright Road West residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) smashed the rear patio door window to gain entry and stole jewellery and colognes.

Traffic stop leads to arrest for two police services

On Dec. 19, 2016 at 3 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Laird Road. The male driver was found to be a disqualified driver and he was arrested. Further investigation discovered that he was also wanted on a warrant from Kingston Police for the charges of fraudulently personate and fraud under $5,000. He will be returned to Kingston Police on Dec. 20 to deal with those charges.

The 38-year-old Guelph man will be in Guelph court on January 27, 2017 to deal with the charge of drive disqualified.

Collision

On Dec. 19, 2016 at approximately 4 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Arkell Road for a reported two vehicle collision. It is alleged that a Jeep Grand Cherokee travelling west on Arkell Road near Victoria Road rear ended a Toyota RAV4 that was stopped behind a vehicle waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway.  No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicles is estimated at $10,000.

The driver of the Jeep, an 18-year-old Guelph male, was issued a summons to appear in Provincial Offences Court for the offence of careless driving.

Early morning speed enforcement

On Dec. 19, 2016 between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Guelph Police issued 13 speeding tickets and two tickets for other HTA violations in the area of Woodlawn Road East.
