Theft from car On February 1, 2016 at 9:40 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to the Yorkshire Street area. It is alleged that a male had been observed entering a motor vehicle by its owner and a friend.

On February 1, 2016 at 9:40 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to the Yorkshire Street area. It is alleged that a male had been observed entering a motor vehicle by its owner and a friend. They chased after the man and detained him until police arrived and arrested him. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered break and enter tools as well as items stolen from vehicles.

William McBain, 32 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property and possession of break and enter tools. He will appear in court on March 4, 2016.

Two break and enters reported on Gosling Gardens

On February 1, 2016, the Guelph Police went to two Gosling Gardens residences to investigate break and enters. In both incidents the culprit(s) entered through a basement window sometime during the morning. In both cases the residents were unsure if a theft occurred.

Break and enter

On February 1, 2016 at 6:37 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a St. Arnaud Street residence to investigate a break and enter. A resident observed an unknown male coming out of the storage area in the basement and after a brief conversation the male left the area. No theft is reported in this incident.

The man is described as white, in his forties, brown/grey short hair and unshaven.

Break and enter

On February 1, 2016 at 11:51 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Raymond Street apartment to investigate a break and enter. A storage room and the mail room was entered. Every mail box had been opened but it was unknown whether a theft occurred.

Community mail box entered

On February 1, 2016 the Guelph Police went to Serena Lane to investigate the report of damage to the community mail box.  It appears that a tool was used to force entry into the mail box. It occurred sometime over the weekend and it is unknown if a theft occurred.

Property damage

On February 2, 2016 at 1:30 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a reported disturbance on Macdonell Street. It is alleged that two males became involved in a verbal altercation and one of the males broke a large glass window that belonged to the store front of the Pita Pit. The male was arrested. 

Christopher Garcia, 19 years of Pickering has been charged with mischief under $5,000. He will appear in court on March 8, 2016.
