Guelph Police responded to 193 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Power tools stolen during residential break-in
Some time between 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2020, a residence under construction located near the intersection of Fife Road and Gateway Drive in the City of Guelph was entered. Various power tools were taken.

Female [accused of] shoplifting $100 worth of groceries
On Feb. 18, 2020 at 9:15 a.m., an adult female entered a grocery store located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. She then selected a new re-usable grocery bag and placed approximately $100 worth of groceries in the bag.

At 9:22 a.m., she left the store without paying.

On Feb. 25 at 3 p.m., police located the female in the downtown core and she was subsequently arrested.

A 23-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach of probation

She will appear in court on April 24.

Male arrested after shoplifting over $200 worth of alcohol
On Jan. 16, 2020 at 3:55 p.m., an adult male shoplifted $207.80 worth of alcohol from a store located near the intersection of Scottsdale Drive and Stone Road West in the City of Guelph.

On Feb. 25, police located the male in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.

A 40-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach of probation x2

He will appear in court on April 28.

Door damaged after attempted residential break-in
Some time over the weekend of Feb. 22 and 23, 2020, there was an attempt made to break in to an apartment located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. No entry was gained, however the front door was damaged.
