Theft suspect located

Earlier today at approximately 3 a.m., a man walked into a Speedvale Avenue convenience store, selected some food and began to walk out of the store without making any effort to pay for the items. When the clerk asked him about paying for it, he declined and continued to walk out of the store and left in a motor vehicle.

Police located that vehicle driving a short distance away and stopped it to investigate. It was learned that the 23-year-old man who had taken the food was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court. He was arrested for that outstanding warrant and further charged with theft of the food from the store. He will appear today in bail court.
