Late in the evening hours of January 2, 2017 the residents of a home located on Waterloo Avenue returned home from the holiday break to find the front door of their home forced open.

Break and enter

Late in the evening hours of Jan. 2, 2017 the residents of a home located on Waterloo Avenue returned home from the holiday break to find the front door of their home forced open. Inside the house they found that many of the rooms had been ransacked and because of all the disarray are trying to determine what exactly has been taken.

Stolen vehicles

There were three stolen vehicles reported to police from Monarch Road, Massey Road and Cardigan Street on Jan. 2. In one of the cases, the vehicle was left unlocked and the spare key left in the glove box for the unknown suspect(s) to find and make off with the car.

Vehicle collisions

On Jan. 2, 2017 police responded to five motor vehicle collisions on Guelph roadways. There were only minor injuries reported in one of these collisions.

Over the course of the day on Jan. 2, the Guelph Police Service was involved in 183 incidents.
