Early in the morning on July 10, a Gordon Street south resident reported to police that someone had entered his garage and taken a Specialized Crosstrail mountain bike.

The following is a news release from Guelph Police:

Stolen bike in break-in recovered later in the day

Early in the morning on July 10, a Gordon Street south resident reported to police that someone had entered his garage and taken a Specialized Crosstrail mountain bike. Later that same afternoon at approximately 4:45 p.m., a patrol officer saw a male with what appeared to be that bicycle at the corner of Wyndham Street and Surrey Street. When the officer investigated further, he was able to confirm that it was indeed the one stolen and arrested the male.

Devin Patrie-Campbell, a 21-year-old from Guelph was charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. He was later released to appear in court on Aug. 15, 2017.

On July 10, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 199 calls for service.
