Sexual assault, theft from vehicle, calls for service

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On March 19, 2018, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Guelph police entered into an investigation where the caller was concerned about a friend. Police were able to locate the friend and checked on her well-being. Investigation revealed that the friend was in distress.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Guelph man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and assault with a weapon. The victim received a minor injury in this incident that did not require medical attention.

The 43-year-old male has been held for a bail hearing.

On March 16, 2018 Guelph police were contacted about a vehicle entry. The victim had her vehicle entered and credit card stolen. The subsequent investigation revealed the identity of the suspect.

On March 20, 2018, a 35-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of breaching an order of recognizance and fourteen counts of unauthorized use of credit card. He was held for a bail hearing.

On March 10, 2018, Guelph police initiated an investigation into the actions of a male who was suspected of breaching an officer in charge undertaking. Investigation confirmed this and on March 12, 2018, a warrant was issued for the male’s arrest.

On March 20, 2018 Guelph police received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the east end of the city. Police located the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was wanted for the previously mentioned breach. He was arrested and transported to the police station. Further to the warrant, the male was alleged to have stolen property and drugs in his possession.

Justin Kuiack-Wayne, a 22-year-old male, was arrested and charged with breaching an officer in charge undertaking (warrant), possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He was given a May 1, 2018 court date.

In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service have dealt with 191 calls for service.
