On May 2, 2016 at 7:02 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Garibaldi Street to assist with a vehicle that had the interior set on fire. It appeared that the car had been rummaged through before the culprit(s) threw an incendiary object through the driver’s side window causing a fire inside.

Downtown arrest

On May 3, 2016 at 3:50 a.m. the Guelph Police located a male on Carden Street known by them to be wanted by Hamilton Police. He was arrested and the subsequent search discovered a small quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine.

A 24-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 3, 2016.

Theft from cars

On May 2, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Edward Street and York Road.
