Wanted man located, theft from vehicle, break and enter

The folllowing are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

At approximately 2:50 p.m. on Oct. 2, police on patrol in the area of Plymouth Court observed a man they knew to be wanted for outstanding warrants for failing to comply with terms of his probation and an undertaking to police. When the man saw police approaching, he got on his bicycle and quickly fled.

Police caught up with the man who struggled with police while he was taken into custody. In addition to his original breach of conditions charges, the man was further charged with resisting arrest and breach of recognizance.

The 39-year-old Guelph man was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.

Early in the afternoon of Oct. 2, a man parked his vehicle in the parking lot on the Woolwich Street of Riverside Park and two black carbon compound bows and a number of hunting arrows taken from inside the vehicle.

Between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, an unknown person(s) forced open the side door of a Mary Street home and made off with a quantity of antique jewelry and cash.
