Two accused of tricycle theft

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON — On Apr. 6, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from James McQueen Public School in the town of Fergus.

Investigation revealed that on Tuesday, Mar. 24, 2017 three commercial quality tricycles used by the kindergarten children of James McQueen Public School were stolen. Witnesses reported seeing some youths riding the tricycles downtown Fergus and had thrown them into the river. 

As a result of the information received OPP has charged a 17-year-old and 13-year-old youth with theft under $5,000 and mischief contrary to the Criminal Code. The youths cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
