Two arrested, accused of ramming homeowner's vehicle with stolen Honda CRV

Two 25-year-olds from Guelph have been arrested and both stolen vehicles have been recovered

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Oct. 14, 2020 at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempted theft at a residence on Woolwich-Guelph Townline in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

The homeowner observed two suspicious vehicles on the property at approximately 4:30 a.m. It was reported that one of the suspects was attempting to enter a parked vehicle in the driveway.

The suspects fled in the two vehicles after being confronted by the homeowner. One of the vehicles, a black Honda CRV, rammed the homeowner's vehicle several times before fleeing the area.

Both vehicles were reported stolen on the same date and have since been recovered.

Abigail Turner, 25 years old of Guelph, has been charged with the following criminal offences;

  • Possession of stolen property
  • Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle
  • Failing to stop at scene of accident
  • Mischief
  • Trespass at night
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to comply with release order

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph.

Benn Douglas Witteveen, 26 years old of Guelph, has been charged with;

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Trespass at night

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Nov. 27, 2020 to answer to the charges.
