Two people face charges after a male was assaulted with a hammer last month, report Guelph police

On Dec. 15 police were at an address on Speedvale Avenue East to speak with a male on an unrelated matter when they noticed the male’s hands were severely swollen and his arm was bleeding.

The male advised he had just been assaulted by two people, one of whom was armed with a hammer. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

The victim would not name his assailants, but subsequent investigation led to their identification through video surveillance. Both were located and arrested on Sunday.

A 33-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. A 28-year-old Guelph female is charged with assault. Both will appear in a Guelph court March 4.
