Just after 7 a.m. on July 24, an Arthur Street resident found a female in the dining room of the home who then ran out a back door when discovered.

The resident ran after the female, apprehended her in a back yard and held her until police arrived. The female was found to be in possession of property from Arthur Street, Yarmouth Street and Surrey Street break and enters that occurred within a few hours previous.

The 21-year-old female from Guelph was charged with a total of 13 offences including break and enter, possession of stolen property, assault and breach of recognizance.

Further investigation led to the identification of a second male later in the day who (allegedly) used a stolen credit card from one of those break-ins at businesses on Speedvale Avenue and Eramosa Road. The 39-year-old Guelph suspect was located in the downtown at approximately 2:30 p.m. and was arrested by police still in possession of property from one of the break-ins.

He is charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and three counts of breach of recognizance.

Both were held in custody to appear in bail court later today.
