Two-car crash leads to impaired driving charge

Other driver suffered minor injuries

On the 19th of May, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to a two-car motor vehicle collision in the area of Gordon Street and Dean Street. After speaking to the driver of one of the involved vehicles, officers made the demand for a roadside breath sample. The driver provided a suitable sample, which then registered a fail on the roadside screening device.

A 58-year-old female from Guelph was arrested for operation while impaired and careless driving. She was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of June 4, 2019. 

The driver of the other involved vehicle incurred minor injuries.
