Two drivers face alcohol related charges

Both had their driver's licence suspended and vehicle impounded

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of a white mini-van for a driving offence on Gordon Street, Guelph.

While speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. The driver refused to provide a sample of breath into a roadside screening device when demanded. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing. He again refused to provide a sample of breath.

Twenty-five-year-old Collin Loreto Cirfi of Guelph has been charged with failing to provide a sample of breath contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on March 27, 2018.

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on Laird Road, west of Guelph. At approximately 4:30 p.m. the driver of a white cargo van entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Fifty-eight-year-old Raymond Wesley Kingsmill of Kitchener has been charged with driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on March 20, 2018.
