Two drivers face impaired charges

TOWN OF ERIN - On Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at approximately 9:06 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington Road 124 at Winston Churchill Boulevard where they investigated the female driver of a grey sedan that entered into the checkpoint.

While speaking with the female, officers determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Forty-nine-year-old Tracy Pearce of Kitchener has been charged with driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jan. 4, 2019 to answer to her charge.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at approximately 1 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Brock Road south near Cockburn Street in Puslinch Township where the investigated the male driver of a silver sedan that turned into a driveway just prior to the checkpoint.

While speaking with the male, officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Fifty-five-year-old Pherk Seeha of St. Thomas has been charged with driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jan. 4, 2019 to answer to his charge.
