Two drivers face impaired charges

Traffic complaints led to the two arrests

TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON - On Aug. 5, 2017 at approximately 8:40 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer received a traffic complaint regarding a pick-up truck travelling on County Road 7 near Sideroad 16, Township of Mapleton.

The vehicle was located and stopped by OPP. While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

25-year-old Robert Russo of Guelph has been charged with over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 8, 2017 to answer to the charge.

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Aug. 6, 2017 at approximately 3:15 a.m, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint regarding a Honda car being operated on Highway 6, Township of Puslinch.

The vehicle was located in a parking lot in Puslinch. While speaking with the male driver the officer observed signs of alcohol consumption. He was arrested for impaired driving and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Fifty-year-old Rickey James Enoe of Brantford has been charged with impaired driving and over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 5, 2017 to answer to the charges.
