Two drivers nabbed for stunt driving in separate incidents

Both clocked at speeds significantly over the limit
speeding highway

CITY OF GUELPH, ON - On Apr. 20, 2017 at approximately 1:15 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County 124 near First Line in the Town of Erin. The officer observed a male driving a 2010 Mazda 6 travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 172 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

19-year-old Jake Burberry of Georgetown has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 17, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

CITY OF GUELPH, ON - On Apr. 20, 2017 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a Ford Focus travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

53-year-old Catherine Paul of Scarborough has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 17, 2017. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
