Two face serious drug charges after RIDE stop

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at approximately 8:05 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on Roszell Road and Townline Road in Puslinch Township.

A black pick-up truck entered the ride with two males. While speaking with them officers observed contraband cigarettes and a glass pipe with what appeared to be meth. The occupants were arrested and search incident to arrest resulted in a quantity of drugs being seized.

As a result of the investigation 47-year-old Alan Stoneham of Cambridge has been charged with Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine and Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) as well as Obstruct Police contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Nov. 9, 2018.

40-year-old Joshua Saunders of Cambridge has been charged with Possession of a Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

He is also charged with Obstruct Police and Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Nov. 9, 2018.
