Two lifetime driving bans didn't stop man from getting behind wheel of car, say police

A Guelph male who is subject to two lifetime driving prohibitions was arrested Monday evening after officers caught him behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Police on patrol shortly after 10 p.m. spotted the male’s motor vehicle running in a parking lot on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue West. Officers approached and noted the male  in the driver’s seat with his seatbelt on.

As well as two lifetime prohibitions the male is also under a third driving prohibition which expires in 2023.

The 28-year-old was arrested for three counts of operation while prohibited.

He will appear in a Guelph court May 7.
