Two men face weapons charges

Just before 7 p.m. on June 14, police were called when two males were seen on a central Guelph walking trail (allegedly) stripping down bicycles. As police arrived, they observed them actively stripping down the bicycles, and on the ground between them was a conducted energy device, commonly known as a taser. The two were arrested for weapon possession and investigation into the origin of the bikes continues.

Victor Curtis Slade, a 36-year-old Guelph man, and 35-year-old Cian Holland of Rockwood were charged with possession of prohibited weapon and weapon dangerous to the public peace. Mr. Slade was additionally charged with breaching a weapons prohibition order.

The two were later released to appear in court on Aug. 1, 2017.
