Two purses stolen after car window smashed

OPP are reminding everyone of the importance of not leaving valuables in their vehicles

On Dec. 8, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle parked in a church parking lot on Fergus Street North, Mount Forest.

Investigation revealed that the owner had parked her vehicle in the back parking lot to attend a church concert at approximately 7 p.m. When she returned to her vehicle around 9 p.m. she noticed that the passenger window on her vehicle had been smashed and that two purses and a sweater were missing.

Any person with information regarding this incident should contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.

OPP are reminding everyone of the importance of not leaving valuables in their vehicles. If you need to keep valuables in your vehicle, keep them out of sight. Use the trunk if possible or at least conceal them. Double-check that your vehicle is locked; unlocked vehicles are easy pickings for thieves.
