Guelph police are investigating a series of motor vehicle entries and the thefts of two vehicles in a south end neighbourhood early Sunday.

Police were called by several residents in the area of Goodwin Drive and Hall Avenue regarding suspicious activity overnight. A black Acura MDX and white Smart Fortwo were reported stolen from two different addresses, while thieves attempted but were unable to steal a Ford van from a third driveway.

Other residents reported items missing from their vehicles. Three males were captured on surveillance video, though it is unknown if they were involved in the vehicle thefts.

The first male was described as wearing a dark-coloured Adidas jacket with white stripes, jeans, a black toque and a black face mask. The second male is described as Caucasian and wearing a puffy winter jacket, toque and a face mask. The third was a Caucasian male wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, baggy pants and black backpack. All three were wearing construction-style reflective gloves.

The incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Phil Perrins of the Guelph Police General Investigations and Special Projects Unit at 519-824-1212, ext. 7336, email him at [email protected], leave an anonymous tip for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
