Two youths face assault charges

One individual was sent to local hospital with moderate injuries

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance at a restaurant on St. Andrew Street East, Fergus. It was reported that two males were assaulting an individual. When a witness attempted to stop the attack, the (suspects) then (allegedly) attacked him. The (suspects) fled the scene when police were called.

The good samaritan was sent to local hospital with moderate injuries.

OPP located the two suspects who both resisted arrest.

A 16-year-old and 17-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, face the charges of:
    •    Assault
    •    Assault cause bodily harm
    •    Resist peace officer

One of the accused was held for bail and the other was released under the power of a Promise to Appear with Undertaking and Notice to Parent.
