Unwelcome house guests face drug charges

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Feb. 13, 2018 at approximately 7:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist in having two individuals leave a residence on Elora Street, Town of Fergus.

The tenants at this residence had been attempting to get the two parties to leave without success. (It is alleged that the ) suspects had locked themselves inside a bedroom and were using the window as an access point to enter and exit.

OPP attended and the two suspects were removed from the bedroom. Police observed a quantity of marijuana in the room they had occupied. Both parties were arrested for possession.

A search of the room incident to arrest located more drugs and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Thirty-three-year-old Darren Diljee of Elora and 23-year-old Ceilidh (pronounced Kaylee) Evans of Fergus have been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Diljee has also been charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking.

Diljee was held for bail while Evans was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 20, 2018 to answer to the charges.
