U.S. cyber tip leads to arrest in child pornography investigation

On Aug. 2, 2017, members of the Guelph Police Technological Crimes-Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Guelph, where the accused resided. The investigation was a result of a cyber tip from the United States of America. During the search of the home, computer systems, external storage device and other articles were seized from the home.

A 51-year-old Guelph resident was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Distribution of child pornography

The accused will appear in court on Sept. 8, 2017.
