CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Thursday March 15, 2018, at approximately 8 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Middlebrook Road, Elora. The officer observed a male driving a yellow pickup truck at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 50 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 100 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h. The driver could not provide proof that the vehicle was insured.

40-year-old Anthony Ralph Dwarika of North Perth has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and driving without insurance contrary to the Compulsorily Automobile Insurance Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 16, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
